Hi, My plan is to purchase an air brush and try to develope a procedure spraying the metal nitrate solutions this semester. Question: Can the Lego Motors be programed to do a quick acceleration? Lee Sharpe

The LEGO motors can be
The LEGO motors can be programmed to move pretty quickly, although I think that errors due to deceleration seem to add up as a result. What were you thinking about doing? I am happy to provide source code to you!

I am interested in mounting
I am interested in mounting the airbrush on a Lego setup and use the third motor in the Mindstorms kit to quickly rotate with an acceration the airbrush over the substraight to get a concentration gradient. That would be great if you could write some code for me. I would need to be able to experiment with the acceleration to get the coating thickness correct so either have that as an program option or teach me how to change the code to vary the acceleration rate. Thanks

constant speed option?
Lee,
Wouldn't it be possible to pass the nozzle in an arc for a gradient? Then the speed would be constant and maybe easier to establish. I'll sketch a couple of the ideas I had or maybe assemble examples and photograph them.
