Laser Scan stops... help.

Currently when are testing the Scanstation with a glass plate with the CuCoAl solution that is used in the original Dreyfus paper. Everything works smoothly until the NXT box needs to move the laser back to the top of the substrate plate and then to the right slightly so that it can make another vertical pass of the object. Everything works in essence, until the laser reaches the bottom of the substrate plate, and then it just stops.

Please assist.

James -- Does all of the data

Does all of the data get collected? I actually didn't design the software to move the laser back to the top at the end of the scan, although that is an improvement that we could make. Currently, however, you will need to move the laser back to the beginning of the scan manually.

Does that answer your question??

No, the laser just goes down

No, the laser just goes down the sample and collects data in a 10px wide region. It doesn't do any more than that, even with a (what I think) is a properly calibrated zero point for the X axis.

James -- Check the INI file

Check the INI file for the columns setting underneath the raster heading. It sounds like maybe you just didn't set it back to the appropriate value after calibration.

Let me know if that helps. Otherwise, I feel that maybe the mirrors need some alignment...but hopefully not!
