Driver will not install

Hi,
I have a used laptop that was reimaged with windows XP in January and it will not install "LegoMindstormsNXTdriver32.MSI". The message that appears tells us that it needs SP2 so we down loaded service pack 2 and the computer told us it had a newer service pack version so would not install SP2. Has anyone else run into this? What do we try next?

If you look on the properties tab on your C: drive, what does it say? When you installed SP2 did it go ahead and install SP3? Because if it did, then you won't be able to install the driver. However, if you install Vista, it will be able to work. Otherwise, you will have to re-install XP with SP2 and block the update of SP3 from happening.
