SHArK Demonstration at UW's Women In Science Day

A SHArK workshop was held in UW's annual Women In Science Day for girls in grades 6-12. Girls from all over Wyoming were able to participate in the morning or afternoon session of the workshop in which they learned about the importance of alternative energy, were able to set up and begin scanning a previously fired substrate with an actual semiconductor sample on it, and even got to use the HP printer to print an example of a semiconductor on a substrate to take home with them! The workshop was run by Craig Markum, Tamara Sibray, and Jennifer Schuttlefield, with the help of Professor Parkinson. About 30 girls participated in the workshops, where they asked many great questions and were able to learn that science can be fun - especially when playing with Legos!
