reusing chips - HP 564 cartridge chip board
Submitted by sberglund on Tue, 01/12/2010 - 18:51
There is a chip board sold by inkproducts.com (SKU657) so that you don't have to switch the chips every time you use a different refillable cartridge. It's probably easy to make one yourself too. Link: I tested the chip board this week and it worked well. Unfortunately my printer is now broken for an unrelated issue (paper jam error that won't go away). If anyone knows any tricks for clearing paper jam errors that would be helpful.

Thanks!
Thanks for the post! We actually did know about these and have been sending them out to new sites. For any of the old sites, if you would like one, please just let me know and I will send you one. We ordered a whole bunch of them! Thanks,
Jenny
Printer problem
To fix the paper jam, you can try two things. 1) Press the power button and the cancel button (red X) at the same time for more than 15 seconds. Then restart your printer and see what happens. 2) If that doesn't work there is a battery in the chamber under the touch screen that can be removed to "re-set" the printer according to HP. It isn't the easiest thing to remove and you have to tear off the right side of the printer to do this, but it can be done. That also might reset it and rid you of that error message.
Lastly, you can always call HP and try to troubleshoot it. We have done that quite a few times and sometimes can even get a replacement if you are "still under warranty"!

Is this the battery that can be removed to re-set the printer
D5460 battery (circled in red)?

Yes that is the one! Good luck!
