We also tried to spot with barium nitrate (0.35 M) and found that it was insoluble. We added Nitric Acid in an attempt to dissolve the solid that remained at the bottom of the volumetric flask but we were unsuccessful. We spotted the plate with the solution anyways, even though the molarity was lower than we intended, and it wasn't very successful.
