Scan Station Problem
Submitted by petewil2009 on Thu, 07/15/2010 - 14:39
I am having trouble getting data from the scan station. The positive Bias is all blue and the Negative Bias is all red. I made sure that the naoh is not touching the alligator clips. Is there anything else that can cause this problem!??? |

auto scale
For your scans, are you running it on "Auto Scale"? On the right hand side of the software there is a color scale bar that if your right click on you can select "Auto Scale". Let me know if this doesn't help.

I ran a test yesterday with a positive bias and I did set the auto scale. The results just showed a gradient from light orange at the top of the sample to a light purple at the bottom of the sample. There was no variation from left to right.
tests?
What are your samples? Are you pipetting or spraying or printing? Did you run the standards? Also if you send me an email, I can send you the newest version of the software - jschuttl@uwyo.edu.
Still not working on a Positive Bias...
I have yet to install the new software. I just wanted to update real quickly. First off the test we ran was .35MNi_.35MCu_.35MCs_.35MFe_07_16_10_With a Negative Bias. That test actually went off well. However I just ran the same sample with a Positive Bias and that is still showing up as one pure gradient from top to bottom (no signs of the triangular pattern). I tried running it this way with both .5V and .1V bias. There was someone who suggested trying .1V. I'm not sure what else to do. I will try and install the new software and run the test again overnight.
