We are testing the new software sent out on 7/20/10 and we have run into quite a few errors.
The new software will create a pop up box with messages like:
"Error in Performing Command - Error Code 236"
"Error Code 22 - Write to Device Fail"
"Error Code 31 - Read from Device Fail"
and then it will shut down.
We think it is because the LEGO NXT brick shuts off during the scan. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

How has everyone been processing the data with this new software? The new scans save under .R3D which is a file type I'm unfamiliar with. The old software created .txt files which were processed using ImageJ. I can't seem to get ImageJ to work with these new files, perhaps another program will work?

I've been having the same problem with the new software. As soon as the nxt brick shuts off, the scan stops. I'd say this happens after about 20-30 minutes into a scan. I haven't gotten the software to make a complete scan yet.
Michael,
I think I've received some of these same error messages as I've worked with the new software. It's been a couple weeks since I've had a chance to dig further into the problems, but I was able to get a couple pretty decent scans. There are some changes to the LEGO scan station that need to be done though. I've bypassed the first set of gears (but not sure if that is totally necessary) and removed the touch sensor becauase it is no longer needed. Hopefully everyone enjoys the new look and feel of the software and some of these minor bugs won't get in your way too much!
