There is an extra oven that I have in the lab, but it's maximum temperature is 270 degrees C. I am not sure of the specific temperature that must be met for the redox reacton to take place. I was thinking that leaving the substrate in the oven for a longer period of time will take account for a higher temperature. What is the purpose of adding NH4(NO3) and HNO3 to the solutions? What does it do? Why are we using Iron Nitrate and Copper Nitrate as the standards, as opposed to other chemicals such as Aluminum Nitrate and Nickel Nitrate? First off, I have spent about the past month doing nothing but trouble shooting the printer. It's the HP Photosmart D7560. It seems that once an issue is resolved, another pops up. When it is printing, you can see the pattern left by the printhead on the glass slide(s), but there are no "colors" with it. I have searched for pictures of printed glass slides so I would know what a properly printed slide looks like, yet can't find any out there. Can anyone post a pic or at least describe it to me? We are so excited to have so many different sites that have taken on the challenge of helping us not only in finding exciting new materials, but in trouble shooting the system. Laser on causes huge jump in photocurrentSubmitted by freedmad on Thu, 07/15/2010 - 10:08We're getting some odd behavior from the Scanstation. Here are the symptoms when we try to scan a slide: 1) On positive bias the dark current start off nicely around +2V. However, the background on the scan is above 10 V (blue screen of death). Dropping the bias lowers it, but not by much. 2) We seem to get better results with a negative bias scan, at least we see an image. However, the background photocurrent during the scan is positive (+2-3V). I noticed that there have been relatively few experiments reported for TiO2. The starting materials are a little more exotic then for other metals, but nothing terribly difficult to work with. Are people avoiding it because there is so much work already in the literature for TiO2?
